About Zhyva

Zhyva is a Ukrainian brand that creates sportswear and swimwear from old fishing nets and plastic waste recovered from the seas and oceans.

The production of our clothes cleans the planet of plastic, saves natural resources at the production stage and as raw materials.

We are convinced that the future of fashion lies in a circular economy based on renewable resources. Therefore, we only cooperate with environmentally friendly and ethical factories.

All fabrics used for our clothing are certified “made in Green” by OEKO-TEX®, which guarantees that they are tested for harmful substances and produced in socially safe conditions.

Zhyva is a brand for the determined, athletic and conscious and we are happy that you are already with us!

Our partners…

At the brand creation stage, we signed a partnership agreement with Aquafil, which introduced the latest Econyl® fiber back in 2011.

ECONYL® is:

  • a new way of thinking
  • a way to combine innovation with a commitment to protecting the environment.
  • the ability to turn waste into a new source of opportunities

Fishing nets and ocean plastic debris that can no longer be used are regenerated and turned into new yarn that has the same characteristics as nylon made from virgin raw materials (i.e. oil)

It is no longer fashionable to use conventional nylon!

Stay tuned, join us on social media to learn more about the process of creating ECONYL® yarn and Zhyva brand clothing

Healthy Seas

The Zhyva brand cooperates with the global public organization Healthy Seas, which is engaged in cleaning the ocean from fishing nets and plastic waste, which is then converted into ECONYL® fiber.

The Healthy Seas Initiative was founded in 2013 to combat the phenomenon of ghost fishing, which leads to the unnecessary death of marine animals. By cleaning up the seas with volunteer divers and working with fishing sector stakeholders to prevent littering at sea, Healthy Seas collects nets and other debris and makes it a valuable resource.

Founded on the principles of the circular economy, Healthy Seas advocates the three pillars of sustainability and strives to have a positive and long-term impact on the marine environment as well as on the development of society through education and awareness.

Since its inception in 2013, 585 tons of fishing nets have been collected

This number is equivalent to the weight of 5 blue whales, the largest mammals on Earth

In 2020 alone, 75,000 kg of fishing nets were collected by volunteer divers and fishermen
